New to the national Net Zero program? Don’t underestimate the time required to implement a GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard-compliant sustainability planning and reporting system. It is likely to take your company 18+ months to post a compliant disclosure statement: two-four months to develop-implement an emissions reporting system; twelve months of data collection; four-six months to convert data to emissions reporting standards, set reduction goals and post transparent, auditable disclosures. Fortunately, that time can be reduced to a few weeks through the power of Federal NetZero’s Sustainability-as-a-Service platform and your prior-year data gathered using our data collection apps.

How Our Subscriber Service Products Make Compliance Easy

The Federal sustainability framework encompasses complex areas of sustainability planning and reporting, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and reporting, climate change risk management and more. Consider the daunting challenge to build an inhouse capability for sustainability: knowledge of complex laws, implementation of four Executive Orders (more to come), the Federal Sustainability Plan, FAR 23.103 Sustainable Acquisitions, and an immense number of implementing standards and protocols which are growing by the day.

For example, the greenhouse gas emissions standard alone is 116 pages, and the guidance for calculation Scope 3 emissions reporting is another 182 pages – and these must be understood and implemented to assure compliance. The cost to your business is not trivial, and demand for the necessary skills out distances the current skill base by at least 100:1.

Federal NetZero offers Sustainability as a Service because it just makes sense for services companies. Federal NetZero is a platform-based service, which means we can deliver products efficiently – at many times less cost than consulting services.

Scope 1, 2 and 3 Green House Gas Public Disclosures

A greenhouse gas (GHG) disclosure refers to the process of reporting information on an organization’s emissions of GHGs and its efforts to reduce them. This disclosure typically includes data on the quantity and sources of GHG emissions, as well as information on the steps being taken to mitigate and manage these emissions. GHG disclosures are used by organizations to communicate their environmental impact to stakeholders and to provide transparency on their efforts to address climate change. They are also used by governments and other organizations to monitor and track progress towards reducing GHG emissions at a global and national level. In the future, most Federal contractors will be required to post disclosures during solicitations, contract and task order award, and periodically during contract performance. Don’t wait to implement am sustainability planning and reporting system. You may need 18+ months lead-time.

GHG Disclosures Prepared by Federal NetZero include the scope and methodology used to measure and report GHG emissions; total GHG emissions by gas and intensity metrics across all, business operations; and details on emissions sources, such as energy use, transportation, waste management, etc. We draft strategies and targets for reducing GHG emissions and we assess progress and performance in reducing emissions over time. Each disclosure provides relevant contextual information, such as the size and structure of your company. Our disclosures follow established guidelines, such as the GHG Protocol and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards. Our disclosures provide complete transparency and are auditable. If you are willing to report data over the past year, we can have your disclosure statement within weeks of your submittal of data using our functional data collection apps.
